MAF Test Update

Today I ran my fifth MAF test over the last 4 weeks. My last blog post about re-starting these MAF tests can be found here. Here are my latest results in table form:

MAF Tests, 1 mile warm-up then 2 miles at MAF HR
Date:
3-14-2018
3-26-2018
3-27-2018
4-3-2018
4-10-2018
Mile 1:
8:15
8:20
8:17
8:17
8:11
Mile 2:
8:33
8:39
8:36
8:31
8:30
Change in pace:
18 secs
19 secs
19 secs
14 secs
19 secs

Is this improvement? Maybe. That first mile is getting faster, but the second mile still has about the same drop in pace. I suppose improvement does not come in one week or one month increments. This is a longer term cycle. I should see positive changes every 3 months. And that improvement should be consistent. Not up one quarter and down the next. Time will tell! I'm still enjoying these tests and have committed to doing them through the Illinois half-marathon race date (April 28). After that, I may get bored and stop this nonsense.
