Full Moon Run #96

This Wednesday night at 6:30pm will be full moon run #96 at Lake of the Woods. It won't be long until we reach that mystical and magical Full Moon Run #100! The week of the 100th moon run will be the 7-Day Buffalo Trace Trail Run. Can you think of a better way to celebrate 100 moon runs than running for 7 days straight? I hope that week in mid-June will have lots of fireflies...just like the first moon run many years ago.

I believe this moon run was "officially canceled" by the moon master (that's me) after last month's dreadful turn-out (N=1). See blog post on January 23 for details. I suppose it's still canceled, but anyone can show up and run the darn thing. If it's only me, that's OK. Only a few moon runs until I retire.

Read this on NASA as I played geek for 5 minutes but someone also posted on the Ultra list:

A lunar eclipse will occur this Wednesday between 2000 and 2030 MST (2200 - 2230 EST). It'll be the last one before 2010.

Then the full moon run should start later...or last longer! We need to be out there between 9-9:30pm (CST).

WASHINGTON - The military's attempt to shoot down a wayward U.S. spy satellite as it falls toward Earth could happen as early as Wednesday night, but no final decision on timing has been made, officials said. Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said Tuesday that senior military officers, including Gen. Kevin Chilton, the head of the U.S. Strategic Command, are evaluating the situation and will advise Defense Secretary Robert Gates on the best time to carry it out.
