A blog by a guy named Chris who writes about running. Usually trail running--often at the ultramarathon distance. See you on the trails.

New Blog Name?
Now that I'm retired from race directing, I think this "Clinton Lake Ultra" blog needs a new name. It'll keep the same URL and still focus around my thoughts and experiences regarding running. I'm tentatively going with "Chris' Ultra Blog"...for now. If you have better ideas for a title, let me know.

with your focus on barefoot running, why not barefoot Mit's?
I thought about something related to barefooting...but what if I give it up? Doubt I'll give up ultras. Well, at least not until after the Canadian Death Race!
Don't be boring! I like that other person's suggestion of Chris Crossing the Miles. :-)
My wife prefers something like "Funky Monkey Feet" or "Giant Gorilla Shoes." I guess those darn FiveFinger shoes have taken over my personality!
My suggestion would be to have 2 blogs -- rename this one & start another one just for Clinton Lake. You could keep all specific information (past, present & future) about the Clinton Lake event just a click away on the race blog. That's what I do for Louisville's Lovin' the Hills race blog while keeping my own personal blog (diary) separate. It really doesn't need to be updated till a couple months before race day. It's been a benefit to the runners (from what I've heard) & has been very rewarding personally to be able to contribute to the event in my own way.
.
Interesting idea Ed. I wanted to leave the new RDs alone and not have any connection back to me (except for me volunteering and maybe running the race). The race already has too much connected to me and I want them to have a clean slate for whatever changes they want to make at CL30.
I wanted to thank you for this great read!! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.
